Educated To Division (My Experience Of Uk Schooling)

On thinking back over school I notice a very stark fact, the whole program of it, the way the lessons jumped arbitrarily from one subject to another, with no relationship, congruence, or wholeness suggested whatsoever, actually put the human mind into a state of division, of not being able to see the connection between ALL subjects…

Gradually tangling the mind/energy field in a rushed and panicked necessity, following a somewhat arbitrary mad mixed up plan based it seems on anything other than the true well being of the students and more on number crunching and figures…

The result?

Mass confusion, frustration, and a gradual diminishing of capacity, weakening the mind and body, many people shutting down to what was actually being taught, retaining only what was required to make it through the system, was the result…

It is no wonder there was such disarray and angst in much of the school population, and not just the students! And it does not seem to have improved any as I look at the state of play today, maybe on the surface, nicer toys to play with and so on, looks more sophisticated, but the lack of insight about this underlying unity of all subjects and how each could so gracefully play off and enhance one and other is the deep cause of the trouble throughout our systems…

For a ‘clever’ culture we’re pretty dumb!

Whether this is an intentional dumbing down of people to make them easy to direct, sheep like and docile, or simply an artifact of an unintelligent archaic system I don’t know for sure…

I don’t dismiss the content of school, the great teachers and their experience and knowledge, that is not what I question here, I have gained so much from the individuals and the lessons themselves, what I flag up is the absolute disjointed, lack of unity within the education system itself, which is of course reflected throughout our culture in general, this lack of insight about all subjects being totally interrelated as a unified whole, a grand synergy of perspectives…

Instead of this natural and healthy insight about learning, my experience was one of being herded from subject to subject with no natural continuity or wholeness about what it is I was supposed to be doing, it was just a big fragmented and divided mess of information, mainly imposed and forced, and with little overview and insight about the true purpose or view of reality as a perfectly integrated whole…

I share this as I am sure many have had the same experience, and are probably suffering from the same result, mass division in their consciousness, effecting in a negative way all kind of aspects of their lives, and hope it triggers some useful insight, opens a doorway to better resolution and clarity…

Releasing some of the old schooling tension :)

Hopefully we can make it a more fruitful and inspiring experience for the generations to come!

Peace Waves )))
