Simple Honesty

In an adult world, as it has evolved here on earth, it is almost impossible to be honest…

To a child, like nature, honesty is natural, until it learns otherwise, is trained, or conditioned otherwise…

As soon as such a natural honesty, of what is experienced directly, is subverted by an overriding tendency to have to lie to survive, to avoid hurt, pain, punishment, and so on, (at any level), then the natural and simple honesty of direct experience, the most potent thing we have, is masked, it becomes temporarily lost, often for a lifetime…

We can get many things we think we want in this adult world by living within very complex systems of lies and so called intelligent control, but rarely do we get what we truly want, we then create this artificial compensatory unnatural world, decoupled from reality to fulfill these increasing wants that remain just as increasingly unsatisfied…

This is formed internally, within each person, as an operating mode, and eventually we start to build the outside counterpart, in the form of our cultures, buildings, technologies, and so on…

Much of it is built on denial of the childlike honesty we all begin with, of what is present, what is sensed, what is direct and real in awareness, what is healthy, what is truly good, not because our minds and studies say it is, but because clarity is running through our minds, our bodies, our lives, we sense very directly what is innately good…

But while we are bound to the worlds and creations of intellect, which itself is usually operating in a very subdued and limited sense of true reality, then we tend to deny the childlike simple honesty in favor of keeping in play what we have become familiar with, used to, and accustomed to, which inevitably is some degree of compulsive lies…

We can then not think of it being otherwise, even though, deeply, we know it is not good, not healthy, and not right to us on the deepest level…

We become bound by social codes, intellectual studies, the stories of those who make the most noise, have the most force and aggression, the most left ignoring simple profound sense of truth, that we had as a child, where we could simply come right out and say it, cry when hurt, laugh when happy, these very essential and simple things, just as nature holds nothing back, no tree, no bush, no flock, no school holds anything back, they all flourish and give of their nature fully unerringly…

Humans on the other hand, tend to have to navigate a jungle of learnt lies, rules, dogma, and past ideas, which mask over this deeper nature, subdue our sense, even numb us almost entirely from our direct sense of it…

But it never goes away, we can never avoid the ultimate reality and presence of it, as it forever remains underneath everything we create and experience, so, we can learn to orientate with it and build in accord with it, making it more present and clear in our reality, or, we play this game of masking it, trying to avoid it, doing anything but face it, and still, at the end of all that, be left face to face with the same choice, the same decision…

To face the most primary underlying truth of reality.

All our creation, all our thinking, all our experiencing, it cannot get us away from this choice, it can delay it, but it can not get us away from it, as it is all that truly remains, everything else, as brilliant as it is, cannot stand up in the simple light of self evident truth…

Maybe by wit, by aggression, by force, by dominance and authority an idea can get its way for a little while, but that is all it gets, as sooner or later it is set on a direct course with self-evident-truth…

This is possibly the reason we have the systems we do, they form and exploit an idea as long as it can be done, before going through the process of thinking up another idea to exploit, over and over again, calling this progress…

Eventually, all ideas will reach the level of clear truth, and so there will be no need for such a process of individuating, exaggerating, and exploiting for as long as possible, the most popular ideas, until the next one comes along, the model will become defunct and unusable, maybe we’re already meeting with that point here on earth?

I’ll leave you with that one to ponder, recognize, and decide for yourself…

The point is, any lasting and worthwhile change in our lives, and upon this planet will come from our reconnecting with our childlike simple honesty, as it is only that which can cut through forests of man made bs…

Most, at some point in their short existence, have been punished, over and over again for such honesty, and so the very thing that can set us free, make this a natural and healthy place to live, is the very thing we’re trained to subdue, numb to, and diminish…

In its place we each, to lesser or greater degree, adhere to the most popular dogma and script of the era, ignoring our inherent and innate wisdom, the simple honesty that exists beyond all such suggestions, in doing so, forming an increasingly troubled and problematic world in the process…

The moral of the tale?

Encourage honesty, in yourself, in your children, about yourself, towards yourself, and towards other people, even if it makes you uncomfortable, let it be there, and be sure to listen with open ears, the fate of your species may very well depend on this?
